General Data Protection Regulation Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect from 25 May 2018. This gives you extra rights in addition to the Data Protection Act.  AWOL Recruitment Ltd. will facilitate your rights to manage your data and respect your privacy.

We are a recruitment business and collect and store your data in order provide suitable candidates and relief chefs to our clients, and suitable placements or assignments to you, the job seeker or agency chef.

Documents may include all or some of the following: CV, portfolio, passport, driving license, residence permit, birth certificate, marriage certificate, proof of address (council tax statement, mortgage statement, credit card bill etc.), next of kin details, national insurance number, trade certificates, DBS certificate.

This information is gathered during the initial recruitment process and is updated when relevant, for example change of address or updated trade certificates.

Your data is held securely and is only accessible by AWOL Recruitment directors and management.

You can request access to your personal data free of charge (in most cases) and ask us how we make use of it.

You can ask us to delete or remove your personal data where there is no good reason for its continued processing. Our policy is to delete your data after 5 years from registration.

You can access, transfer or move your personal data from us to other providers by request.

We will inform you and request your consent before sending your data to third parties.

You are entitled to have your personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete. If we have disclosed the data in question to third parties, we will inform them of the rectification. You can allow us to store your data but still have the right to restrict our processing of your data.

You have the right to object to our usage of your data on grounds relating to your particular situation.
